Spices are agricultural material, so the checks that matter are on what is in the crop rather than what the factory added: pesticide residues, mycotoxins in items prone to them, and heavy metals. Korea applies its own residue standards, and a shipment that clears its home market can still be tested on arrival here. 향신료는 농산물이므로 공장이 무엇을 첨가했는지보다 작물에 무엇이 남아 있는지가 관건입니다. 잔류농약, 해당 품목에서 문제가 되는 곰팡이독소, 중금속이 대상입니다. 국내 잔류 기준은 자체적으로 운용되며, 현지에서 유통되던 물량이라도 도착 후 검사를 받을 수 있습니다.
Practical consequence: a test report from the producing country helps but does not replace the Korean inspection, and a first shipment of a new item should be planned as if laboratory testing will happen — because for this category it often does. 실무적으로는, 생산국 시험성적서가 도움은 되지만 국내 검사를 대체하지는 않습니다. 신규 품목의 첫 선적은 정밀검사를 받는다는 전제로 일정을 잡는 것이 안전합니다. 이 품목군에서는 실제로 자주 발생합니다.
Irradiation has to be declared방사선 조사는 표시 대상이다
Irradiation is used in several producing countries to control microbial load in dried spices. Where it has been applied, that fact has to be handled correctly in Korean documentation and labelling — it is not something to leave unstated and discover later. 건조 향신료의 미생물 저감을 위해 일부 생산국에서 방사선 조사를 사용합니다. 조사 처리된 경우 국내 서류와 표시에서 그 사실을 정확히 다뤄야 합니다. 언급하지 않고 넘어갔다가 나중에 드러날 사안이 아닙니다.
Ask the producer directly whether any lot has been irradiated, and whether an alternative non-irradiated lot is available. Many makers run both. 제조사에 조사 처리 여부를 직접 확인하고, 비조사 로트를 공급할 수 있는지 물어보십시오. 두 가지를 병행하는 제조사가 많습니다.
Blends are labelled differently from single spices혼합 제품은 단일 향신료와 표시가 다르다
A jar of oregano and a Creole seasoning mix are not the same thing on a Korean label. Blends carry a full ingredient list in descending order, any salt content shows up in the nutrition figures, and anti-caking agents and flavourings fall under the additive rules. Where a mix contains dairy, wheat or other allergenic material, that has to be declared as well. 오레가노 한 병과 크레올 시즈닝 믹스는 한글 표시사항에서 같은 제품이 아닙니다. 혼합 제품은 함량 순 전체 원재료 목록이 필요하고, 소금 함량은 영양성분에 반영되며, 고결방지제·향료는 첨가물 기준을 따릅니다. 유·밀 등 알레르기 유발 원료가 들어가면 별도 표시가 필요합니다.
Recipe secrecy is the friction point here. Producers protecting a blend still have to disclose composition for the declaration, even where the retail label groups items. That is a conversation worth having early rather than at the port. 배합 비밀 유지가 자주 마찰 지점이 됩니다. 소매 라벨에서는 묶어 표기하더라도, 수입신고를 위해서는 조성을 제출해야 합니다. 항만이 아니라 초기에 논의할 사안입니다.

Most spice brands that succeed in Korea start with food service, because the volume is predictable, and move into retail once the name means something. 국내에서 자리 잡은 향신료 브랜드는 대체로 외식 채널에서 시작합니다. 물량이 예측 가능하기 때문입니다. 이름이 알려진 뒤 소매로 넘어갑니다.
